Things feel impossible until they're done!

I never thought I’d be a 5 a.m. riser. But something has shifted.

Lately, I’ve been waking early—moving through my breathwork, meditation, and a little Kundalini before the rest of the house wakes up. And this morning, it saved us from total chaos.

At around 6:30, just as I was finishing my rituals, I heard the blood-curdling screams from upstairs. One of my sons had been triggered by his brother, and all hell was breaking loose. I’m sure half the neighborhood heard it.

Because I had already filled my own cup, I was able to approach him with calm, grounded empathy. He was raging on my bed, fists clenched, body hot with emotion. I didn’t say much. I just dropped down beside him, and to my surprise, he jumped onto my body to co-regulate.

He lay there for five minutes while I gently tickled his back, and I could literally feel his nervous system begin to settle. He was still reactive to everyone else, but the physical aggression melted away.

From there, the rest of the morning flowed—with more ease, more playfulness, and way less overwhelm.

The truth is, these changes aren’t always easy. But when we nurture ourselves through ritual, self-care, and self-compassion, we create the inner space to respond differently.

Sometimes, a small shift in us shifts everything. This is why I created Kimology, to create small pauses in the day, to create inspired rituals and move with intention!
